Carbon strategy

We assist companies in developing a comprehensive carbon strategy. This involves:

• Calculating direct and indirect carbon footprint
• Assessing current activities
• Identifying key gaps and major risks

Carbon management program

Once a current carbon footprint has been calculated a carbon management program will be put together. This will focus on managing the risks and taking advantage of the opportunities that climate change presents. Examples
of areas covered include:

• Efficient use of energy
• Use of less carbon intensive or renewable energy
• Changes in material sourcing and processing

Where opportunities to reduce direct emissions exist the possibility to create carbon credits will be examined thoroughly. Companies that wish to move to a carbon neutral position will be assisted in using carbon offsetting to achieve the required reduction in carbon emissions.

Offsets can be achieved through three main channels:

• Emissions trading by buying credits from the EU ETS
• CDM/JI: purchasing carbon credits from CDM/JI transactions
• Voluntary: purchasing carbon credits from carbon reduction projects that
do not fall within the Kyoto Protocol rules
